I do not own a horse (but I am saving up for one ((I figure that if I can save up enough for food/board/etc for two years, plus the money to actually buy the horse and some $$ for an emergency fund, I can get one and go from there)) and I ride and stuff) but everyone's horses are BEAUTIFUL!

We have a BLM mustang (who is a half blind Driving horse), 2 Quarter Horses (mare and yearling), 2 Foxtrotters, a half Arab half Apaloosa (nice cross huh?

) and recently came home from the Nebraska Horse Expo with a Mini Mule.

oh my.....when I seen this picture I had to take a double look...It looks just like our Appy Mare Speckles...(she came with that name)....
Who by the way is also blind...Actually about 50% blind in one eye and about 25% in the other eye...She's our 12 year old blind Appy Mare...

I have a Quarter Horse. He's 5 years old and his name is Cat. I call him Stinker, because that's what he is!!! He's a curious little devil.

Ahh so you have a beautiful horse too!

I was told by the vet that appaloosas are prone to get cataracts. That is truly sad, because these horses are so wonderful and it is very expensive to remove the cataracts!!

If I had the money (about $2500) I would get it done in a heartbeat!

I'll have to see if she'll let me get a picture of her....I don't know that hers is catarcts though....The person I got it from though did say it was very common in white horses...the appys specially....I thought they called it Moon Blindness(or at least hers)....I did search it alittle on line and kinda came up with the same 'moonblindness' thing...She's had it for about 2 years before we got her, and we've had her about a year now....She does just fine out in our pasture with the sheep, goats, and llamas...She loves to be ridden and is very well trained...She has wonderful training in her, just needs to beable to let it out....the weather will hopefully warm up here very soon, so that she can do more...
