And I mean not just one or two of, but a breeder pair or two.. And who did you purchase yours from? Have they won any shows? How long have you guys raised you Africans?

I don't think those varieties (colors) are recognized by the APA so they arent going to win shows and for that matter a goose wining best of show is very rare. First they have to win champ waterfowl where they are usually beaten by a Call or other colorful Duck.....
The whites are recognized by the APA. The Buffs aren't recognized yet, but can most definately be shown.. they just don't have their own color class. They would be judged with the grays.
Also, I didn't mention "best of show" at all.. in any way shape or form.. just asked what shows the African-keeping individuals here have won with their color morphs.

So just WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "WINat a show? Best of Breed, Best heavy goose, Best goose, Champion Waterfowl? Does having the Only white (best of variety) count as a win?~gd

If it wins best of (color) variety, it goes up for best of breed. Then best of class (heavy, medium, light), then best of geese, then best of waterfowl, then best of show. A not apa recognized color can still win best of breed, and best of breed is still eligible for anything else.. I take it you have never shown waterfowl before?

I USED TO RAISE GRAYS. In a sense you are right, I have never seen a show quality White or Buff African, let alone one that could take best of Breed, so I was being a grouch.
Have you?
BTW you never did state just what level you considered as "wining a show"~grouchdragon, lol

I have seen show quality whites and buffs. Many of the color varieties easily beat the pants off the grays. Not many folks have them that good, but they do exist. "Winning a show" can mean anything - "best of (color) variety, best of breed, best of class (heavy, medium, light), best of geese, best of waterfowl, best of entire show" - any of those will cut it.
