Who is against no-crow collars?

I am a blunt person. No I don't want to kill a animal, but if its the last choice. If we had a roo from our batch, it was agreed that it would go to a friend so that she could dispatch it later.
I I understand, but this is a backyard chicken forum, which means some of us consider them as pets and part of the family, not egg producing machines. I get where you are coming from, I really do, but the way you said it sounded cruel, and sounded like, you have no issue at all killing an animal. Maybe a tad too blunt?

Edit: we are all different and have different perspectives on what life means, according to other creatures. I will not judge you. I am sorry if I got too sensitive. I am just very sensitive when it comes to our Earth's creatures. You do you...but maybe phrase it a little nicer for our animal-living folks here??

There are many many people here who also eat their chickens. I'm sorry if you don't like it, but it is the reality,

I do NOT think of MY chickens as egg laying machines, they are my best friends, but I have NO issue dispatching a problamatic chicken, and I have no problem when somebody else dispatches their chicken.

I 100% agree with this statement. This IS a chicken forum, and people DO eat their chickens here. A responsible owner should be able to dispatch a chicken for any reason at any time. It's not that we don't care, but it is about what is best for our flock, and for a family like mine it's also what's best for the pocket book.

my initial statement was about culling roosters if you have no other choice, instead of using a collar

I did not derail it but I will reply to comments when people say I shouldn't be so blunt.

chickens are livestock, I don't care how you handle them, but there are breeds of chickens bred just for food :).. it is what it is.
