This morning, NADA. Still, Day 21 doesn't technically start till after 2 p.m. today and if I hadn't been so precise in exactly when I put them in and figuring from there, I could say tomorrow is Day 21. She's not late yet. No reason to think it won't hatch. Humidity and temps in the big MegaBator have been rock-steady and perfect during the last three days. No bator issues whatsoever and every candling looked textbook till I couldn't see any light at all through that little blue egg.

REALLY Day 21 now and nothing. I'm worried now officially. If nothing by later on, I'd normally candle, but I don't know if I can see a thing in this blue egg. Guess I could see if the chick has shrunk away from the aircell, a bad sign. Either that or I'll do the float test. Something. I'm just too impatient. I had this experience before with one egg that was fine on Day 18 and in the hatcher and at day 22, we candled and it had died for some unknown reason. Hope this isn't the case here. I also had a thought that the chick may have grown too large for the egg and can't maneuver to get out. Ok, overthinking here. Back to waiting...

I hope that's not the case! Still, I had one egg that never rocked, rolled or peeped that I was sure wasn't going to hatch... but the chick zipped out (almost a day late) in a matter of 30 minutes.

Thanks for the encouragement! I did quickly candle it and did not see a huge clear air space at the top of the egg, so at least that's a good thing. Sometimes it happens that they'll die at the end and then the membrane sort of shrink-wraps the chick, leaving a huge aircell area at the top, which is obvious at candling. At the end, as you know, there should be at least a beak in that aircell and basically, the chick takes up the entire egg. SO, I'm back to waiting...waiting...waiting...

Here we are at day 20 (at 10 am this morning). Starting to drum my fingers and get antsy. . .

Were are we exactly? How many members are left with babies due? I lost count. I am at day 18 with the four under the banty. I think only 3 are viable from the last candling. I moved her last night into her own pen, sure hope that doesn't upset anything. Did not seem phased at all when I picked her up, nest box and all to put her in there.
Oh, yeah and day 13 with 18 OEGB and 18 Gold Phoenix.

My baby didn't make it for some unknown reason. Fully formed, yolk absorbed, just didn't pip. All values were great, so maybe it was a tough membrane or just too weak of a chick; after all, it was a pullet egg.

I am on DAY 18 with five eggs and they'll be going in the hatcher later today; I am on DAY 3 with eight others as well.

Mark, if your hatch doesn't go well (I was wondering how you keep people away from the bator in a school, LOL!) I will be glad to send you more eggs. Maybe you need to get one and hatch them at home so no "helpful people" will interfere with your babies.
