Hi Jamie. The humidity spiked to 92!!!!!!!!!! I had a little cup of water on the wire with the eggs to keep the humidity up, and Chloe spilled it when she broke in. So it was too high.
I wasn't home, but I think my daughter found the open bator, one chick dangling out the side and my dad got the poor other chick out of Chloe's mouth.
I think it was a few minutes.
So it was too much humidity for about an hour. But I got it down very fast and got the temp back up.
Now it is at about 60 degrees humidity and temp is around 99.8. Pipping is continuing.
So I think, I hope things will be okay, but I won't know until the hatch progresses.
oh that is better so you didnt loss humidity would say that is better then drying out. I really think in that case you will prob be okay. That makes me feel a little better anyway. I am so sorry about the chick. I have the same prob my dogs love squeaky toys. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you and please keep me informed. sending great hatching vibes your way. Hopefully tomorrow night the bcs will start hatching.
They are in bed, but I got them up for the birth!!! I called my mom and told her she was a grammy again!!! LOL!!! And my youngest son Ethan already named it "Fuzzy Puzzy" and he wants the next one that hatches to be named "Tuna Fish"!!! What a goofball!!! You have to love 4yr olds!!!!
