Here are some of the babies, I will take pics when the 3 stragglers are done! These are my own "mutt eggs" They are from my 2 RIR roos and either my black stars, red stars, barred rocks or white rocks, not sure who laid the eggs!!!
Thanks guys!! It is so much better when you hatch them yourself. I feel more connected!! Maybe it is because they already heard my voice (ALOT)!!! Before they were hatched, maybe not, but these chicks seem different in a better way than my first batch that I ordered from McMurray. Who knows, I am just happ they are all alive and healthy as far as I can tell. They are very active!! Congrats to all of you on your healthy hatches, and to those with only pips, I have my fingers crossed for you all!!!!
Well, just got home. Been gone all afternoon. I thought maybe I'd come home to pips from my Silkie eggs, but nothing. Maybe tomorrow morning. They're really stressing me out a little.
On the bright side, my 3 little Sizzles are looking good. I think I got 1 blue, 1 black, and 1 splash. Pretty cool!!
I'm going crazy here waiting till morning to go check on my broody hen!!
I'll update in the morning I sure hope they have hatched because well its now 1:11 a.m. here so yesterday was day 21 and her eggs usally hatch on day 21 so I hope they have hatched or I think something went wrong!:| :| :| :| :| :|
Paula, Theresann and Dancingchicken- I am sending good hatching karma. I truly hope you have sucess.
Kelli- So sorry about your showgirls. I got 1 of 22 silkies this summer. It truly disappointed us. I am glad at least you got your mutts so the showgirl won't be alone.
Oh and Baldie, CUUUUUUUUTE!!!!!!!!!!
Edited to add- PBJ, come on up! There's plenty of room here! Thanks for the sweet compliment. We have our own little Shangrila here. The farm needs alot of work these days, esp the barn, but it's not going to happen these days.
The only down side of where we live is it is about 1 hour from a city (I miss all that a city has to offer) and it is dang cold here in the winters. I mean DANG COLD.
