Who is my daddy?

I hatched this egg about 4 days ago. I only have two chickens that lay white eggs- a silver penciled hamburg and a golden laced polish. When it popped out with this coloring, I figured the hamburg laid it, don't you think?

Where I'm confused now is who the rooster could be. She is penned with a golden laced polish, and a french black copper marans. There's a possibility she was exposed to a cream legbar too, but that was bordering on too long ago for it to be possible.

(please excuse the photobombing blue laced red wyandotte)

(still jealous that I'm taking pictures of her, not him)

If I don't get some ideas soon, I'm going to have to start sending her to therapy for her daddy issues...

It's hard when no one answers your thread, huh? I'm a notorious thread killer, but I'll give it a shot.

I don't see any evidence of crazy hair, so I don't think she's got any polish in her. And, she has some black, it looks like. And her legs look shaded. So, that would make her mother the silver pencilled hamburg and her father the Marans. That's my guess.

She has a funny comb, I guess that is what the hamburg comb looks like when it's a chick?

When I put Marans and what I think would be hamburg in to the Chicken Calculator (http://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.html ) I come up with black patterned yellow/golden incomplete spangled for the boys and black patterned red incomplete spangled for the girls. Both of those chicks should be a red-based chick and yours looks blue or diluted. Any chance that that your Marans could be a really dark Blue Copper Marans? It seems either that or the Cream Legbar are the best choices. I agree that the Hamburg is the choice for hens.

I don't think he's blue, he looks awfully black to me. This is crazy because I've hatched a dozen or so of his offspring, and they've all looked black.

The comb is weird. I'm guessing that's what a juvie hamburg comb looks like. I actually just got the hamburg about 6 weeks ago from a friend who was caught over the chicken limit, so I've never seen a hamburg chick before.

Here's the marans.

I thought I'd update. The chick is now nearly two weeks old. I feel reasonably confident that the polish is the father.

There's a kind of weird fuzz developing on the top of the chick's head that seems consistent with a polish mix, but I've never had a polish at this age at home, so my experience is limited.
