Who is pipping and waiting right now??

First two of the five Suedelettes hatched. Looks like both splashes. And they're spoken for already.

Two more are pipped, but one is on the wrong end, so we'll see. Those aren't always able to get out. One left to pip. Today is Day 21.

Here are the two splash babies, one from Velvet and one from Skye. Two are pipped and the fifth and last one was dead in shell, but died about Day 18. What a bummer that is when that happens!

I have three cochin banty eggs and four silkie eggs. Four have pipped, but I think I screwed one up. A cochin egg was oval shaped instead of having a small end. when I saw the pip, I candled it and found the pip at the wrong end. It was below the air cell. So I took tweezers and chipped away some of the shell from the pipped area and over to the air cell, but I didn't go through the membrane. That way, as the chick tries poking through the soft areas, it would work it's way over to the air cell. Well, it worked. I watched the chick poking at the membrane and it followed where I chipped out and poked through it. But now I'm afraid he'll dry out. I have the humidity at 68% right now. It's chirping and from the looks of it's beak, it's head is in the right position, but I can't tell about the rest of him at this point. I may have to put a wet paper towel arond it.

I set some frizzle, EEs, 1 NN (that DD is too excited about!) and some others on Saturday-- this is my first hatch

I think 21 days is going to be complete and total torture!

Got 3 out of 8 eggs, waiting on the others but the rooster is old.....but here they are resting in da brooder.

I'm back in the race! I posted an update on a different thread but I'll add to this one.
I'm barely on day 26 with 21 of my 35 guinea eggs and this morning we have 2 pips!
I just moved them to the hatcher bator yesterday afternoon! The other 14 are still cooking on day 23. It's going to be a loonnggg week!
