I hatched out 19 out of 21 eggs over the weekend ~special hatchery breed hens crossed with a barred rock roo. Now I have 2 pips on my swedish duck eggs on day 25 and I have muscovy duck eggs on day 25 as well that will hatch around day 35.
Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain, those millies are gorgeous! I do love them, but I ordered some eggs but none of them hatched so I will wait. Some things take time.
At the moment I am truly "overrun with chickens" no place to put anymore.
Day 20 and I have three already hatched! Two in my Rcom 3 egg and 1 in my LG. The little fella in the LG has a yolk sack hanging off of him. I forgot what this is called but I hope he/she absorbs it soon. How long does it usually take for them to absorb that?
Hey, David, I see you are in Marietta on one of your other posts. My in-laws are all from Cobb and Cherokee Counties. Sometimes it can take a day to absorb, if it is the yolk sac and not something else.
I have six Blue/Black/Splash Orps due today and Monday, all from my Seude with his ladies. One of Velvet's is due today, but not pipped just rocking. The other five, all except one of those being Skye's, are due to hatch Monday.
First baby hatched is blue and is Velvet's. That was the one due yesterday but hatched today. Then of the five due tomorrow, I have a pip on one of Skye's eggs. All these will go home with Missouri Chick on Wednesday.
