Oh that's great Heather. I'm so happy you gave it the extra time. That's a huge fear on my part that I will give up before the chick does. That's why I don't alway's trust what I see when I candle, Unless it look's like the chick is jumping around on a trampalene or something.
lol Well you certainly can't name that one speedy. I just took another look and I have 3 all the way out and one is halfway out but it's resting with it's wing's spread across two other egg's. One of the one's that hadn't shown a pip or anything has pipped so that just leave's one egg with no activity. This egg is in the corner and I can't see the whole egg so maybe it's pipped and I can't see it yet. The one egg I was worried about earlier with the whole in it and no activity is still alive. There's another egg that's about half way zipped so it want be long now. When you were talking about the chick's coming while you were gone reminded me of the other night. It was around 3:00am and I found a chick pretty close to coming out so I went and got my jazz video recorder and I was going to record the hatch for my sister's MIL. She hadn't ever seen anything like that before. The posistion of the egg in the carton was right under the window, so I held a flashlight with one hand and the recorder with the other and started filming. About two minute's into filming my camera informed me my memory card was full. I'm like what!!!!! Before I could fix that problem the chick was out. Go figure. Oh well I had fun trying to get it on film and I now know it can be done with a flashlight. How are your baby chick's doing now???? I will have mine free ranging tomorrow in there little enclosure of course. I alway's bring my newborn's out to spend the day with me while I work in my yard so I can watch them closely. Keep us posted.
PEACE
