Who is pipping and waiting right now??

Ok, I'm at home now; did chicken chores when I got home. Came inside and looked at the bator, and the calander. Today is day 20, and I have 3 eggs that have started to pip, and I can hear internal peeping. Guys this is the first time a hatch has gotten this far for me in an incubator. I'm so excited. I keep going in and checking on them. I've even witnessed some of them moving around.

Common babies hatch for me!

Ok my first ever hatch is on day 20 and I am going crazy. The thing is for some reason I have a bad feeling like I haven't done something right. I candled often and always seen movement and what I thought I should see. But when I candled a few days ago I didn't see any. There was just a dark area in the egg. So my question is can I candle on day 20? And if so what should I see. Thanks for any help.

Woo hoo!!! Come on babies!!!!

If you saw a dark mass in the egg, then that's the chick, and you don't want to open the 'bator at all. I know it's hard, but don't do it. I didn't think I was going to get ANY quail at all... I was SURE I had killed them all. But I can't candle quail - too small/dark shelled - so I had to just trust and leave them be. Now I have one little guy, and hopefully more in the next couple of days. I had two staggered batches going.

I am waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting...
I wish the 'bator was in my home rather than my school...thats a 15-20 minute drive!

Tomorrow marks day 20.
