it can actually go BOTH ways,, theres a "wet hatch" that you raise the hum. on the last 3 days,,, and a "dry hatch" where you dont raise it above 40%,,, I THINK,,, ive never tried the dry hatch yet,, but some swear by it.

The dry hatch only applies to the days 1-18 part of the incubation. Either way you need to increase the humidity the last 3 days

I use that much in about 3 weeks!

What to do yall?????????? Out of 42 eggs due tomorrow, 13 have already hatched. They are running all over the other eggs and sitting on top of other eggs that are trying to hatch. One egg had a big hole on top of it,
and the other chicks rolled it completely over to where the peep is now next to the floor.
I know it says to stay out, but the humidity is 82% and I so want to take
the babies and put them in the nursery and get them away for the unhatched eggs. TELL ME WHAT TO DO!

Take them out and put them in the prewarmed brooder. But be carefull, sometimes the eggshells may still be stuck to the chicks abdomen. Opening the bator once a day shouldn't hurt.

If you are worried about the humidity, take a warm shower with the bathroom door open to increase the humidity in the house. Or run hot dish water or boil some water on the stove.

The chicks climb on the other eggs because they are warm and the fan is drying them off and in the drying process cools them down.

If you cannot remove the chicks from the bator then seperate the chicks from the eggs. But the chicks will explore and end up all over the bator again shortly unless you have something to physically stop them like a divider.
