Who is pipping and waiting right now??

Piping is the first small hole or crack in the egg. Zipping is when they start to go to town all around the egg. Hatching is when they pop that top off and bust out of the shell.

Man last April I wouldn't of been able to tell ya that LOL.

The roadie ovids are at the hotel now. Two pipped late last night and are slow to zip. Conditions are perfect. Waiting for more on Friday, the due date, and anytime in between!

Well I got a surprise chick today! My last button quail hatched last night. I left the rest of the eggs in the bator just to be sure. I heard one crying and went to investigate. So now I have 18 buttons instead of 17!!

Miss Prissy I am not hatching now but should start in day or two..due tomorrow but you know mother nature..I keep looking at the 16 eggs but no pipping yet..tomorrow is last day. I just can't hardly wait..so will keep in touch..wish me luck!!

Way to go Shelleyd... hope to see some pics of your buttons. A friend of mine had trouble keeping them they were so small and easily chilled.

Good luck fixing the leg chillin. Some 40 years or so ago an empty coke bottle fell off a chair and made a chick spradle legged. We thought that it would end up dying but my younger brother fixed it some how. Couldn't tell it apart from the others. I don't know if it is the same but I hope you can fix yours.

Mine are still cooking in the bator. 10 should hatch out next Wednesday. I think these will be my last of the year. I am already overloaded with chickens.

I GOT 3 EGGS PIPPING RIGHT NOW ONE IS REALLY GOING TO TOWN ON THE SHELL..AND JUST CHIRPING AWAY. SO EXCITED..THINKING ABOUT INCUBATING AGAIN IN FUTURE SOON..
