Who is pipping and waiting right now??

The other eggs are due to hatch as well? You can move them, provided there are NO PIPS in the other eggs. The babies can stay in the bator for up to 3 days before they need food or water, so you could just leave them if you aren't sure about the others.

Understabd about the little one..I had one like that the other day too..my husband had to get it out of the egg shell..and didn't move good legs were bad but all fine now...and yes it landed also upside down and had sticky shells on it..it ended with a bath too day old..and is smaller than others..it with the others now and doing great..half to look hard to tell which one it is anymore..

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

Awww... hang in there. My last chick has issues, too... half the size of others, yolk sac hadn't been absorbed, curled toes... but she's hanging in there. I had a bootie on her all day yesterday, and today I finally had to give her a "bath" to un-slick her feathers. She tried to drown herself a couple of days ago, then rolled in the kibble on the floor... breaded herself.

So she had little patches of fuzz in the slicked back areas. It looked really funny. She's just really scrawny and gangly, but I think she's going to make it.

I take out the empty egg shells. Then leave the chicks. Their chirping seems to help encourage the others still in their shells.

I now have 6 hatched and 4 pips. All black with white tummies so far.

Loco;
All is not lost, someitmes it takes awhile.
We had a bigger pip at 1:30a and a new chick at 3:30a. One more on schedule for tomorrow, then I'm hanging up my hatching jacket for the season!
How do you wrap a chick for a gift?

The three definitely died. I went ahead and pulled them real quick to see what was going on. Two died on day 19 or so and one yesterday. He just never pipped. That one is a bummer.

They should be fine. Just watch them for a bit when you first put them in there, to make sure they don't pick on the little ones.

After baby dried off some more, I put it in the brooder in a seperate tray with the other chicks. Only one was tall enough to see over the edge. Baby can see the shadows and wants to be with them. I set him in with the big ones but, they were very curious and wanted to peck him, so I'll wait until he fluffs up some more and try again.
