Woke up this morning to 3 Welsummer chicks and 5 pipped. Guess they just read the books and decided to do exactly what they are supposed to do! I will say that the Welsummers are the best development and hatch Ive gotten on shipped eggs. I dont know if for some reason the PO was kinder with them, or if they are just tougher eggs, but out of 19 eggs shipped to me by Christie, I have 14 in the hatcher, with 3 hatched and 5 more well on their way.

I have 13 out and 6 eggs doing nothing this morning.

I only have four out, the rest doing nothing.
This last one was really strange, got zipped and the shell off then was stuck with his head underneath him. Don't know how he could of zipped that shell, well I left him for 5 or 6 hours but the last hour he was really really trying so I pull a little of the lower half of the shell and membrane off so he would be able to get his head out.

Is that what is referred to as a breach?

I had one like that. It was zipped last night and I expected to see it this morning. It was sort of upside down and had started to dry out even tho the humidity is 73% in the bator.

One pipped yesterday on day 20 and nothing else, it died.

Today is day 21 and there are 9 more in ther not doing anything yet, OOOOhhh the pain!!! I cant stand it!!!
Im going in there looking at them every 2 minutes hoping something is happening.
I am waiting for 4 Millie fleur D'uccles, 2 Self blue, 3 Sultans.

I have one out, he is still drying, has a bit of shell stuck to his butt, I am sure I can deal with that later.
The rest are doing nothing, no pips or anything, but today is day 21.
I am concerned as my humidity is down to 65, I know I'm not supposed to open it, but don't I need to get the humidity up? I have no other way of adding water unless I open the top.
I don't want the other 4 to dry out and not be able to hatch after all of this.

I have to run to walmart and buy another tote and light, these chicks are way to small to put in with the week old ones.
