LOL! I'm addicted, big time. These babies are the sweetest things. And they seem to survive the shipping (knock on wood!!!) very well.

My little Bobwhite was a day early, so I popped the next two in the hatcher a day early, in hopes that they'll hatch tomorrow.

Two more there, then about 10 more in the incubator, coming out every couple of days. It's hard when you only have one pair laying eggs!!!

LOL! The world needs more quail! I am impatiently waiting for a dozen california valley quail eggs to arrive and just now I bought 100 bobwhite eggs. And looking into buying another 120 coturnix eggs.

I've got 9 chicks hatched out since yesterday morning at this time. 2 Buff Orps out of 6 so far, 6 Jersey Blue Giants out of 7, and 1 Giant Blue Cochin (frizzled?) out of 6 ... so more waiting for the others to come out and join these chirping ones. They are loud. There are 3 blues and 3 black of the little Jersey Giants, and the little Cochin is a blue. Too soon to see if its a frizzle or not.

And I have to go to work-wahhhhhhhh-I don't want to!

Will update later...send good hatching wishes!

Today is day 21 here. We are only about an hour into it at this point and so far nothing. There are 12 eggs in the bator and they all looked good at last candling-about day 14. When I set for hatch I candled just to find the quiters and didn't bother to much with the ones that looked full. My last hatch failed so I'm really hoping for some this time!

I have 13 chicks hatched so far....4 more while I was at work (school) today. Some Buff Orps- 1 is so bright gold colored it looks like i squirt yellow food coloring on its back and head, while another is such a pale soft buff color....adorable! Jersey Giants and Frizzle Giant Blue Cochins- Blues, blacks, and in between the 2 also. (Dark blue or soft black?) Also 1 from an extra egg-Frizzled Auaracana...its too wet to tell anything color-wise yet. But do all Auracanas have tail or no tails? I'm so excited- they are adorable! no Button quails yet- maybe tonight...its only day 16 ending tonight. So far so good. Not sure if there are more pips- there are 6 chicken eggs left I think. hard to tell with all the chicks on top of them. I'm using egg cartons by the way. It's great. They sleep in the carton's empty spots too.

Ok, 12 eggs went into the hatcher last night and now the suspense is KILLING me! I have been peeping at eggs every time I check on them (with no response I might add). I must be crazy! Day 19 here with two days off to fret about it.
