:clap I could of swore I heard and internal peep. Oh my, this would be awesome. I only heard it once but I think that is what I heard. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. I want another baby and so does the screamer. LOL

well maybe I want one more than than the screamer. lol

During all the stress of my oldmans plant burning down yesterday and the reality of everything I did not get a chance to report that we had another biddie hatch out last night, so that makes four new babies and tonight I hear a faint internal peep. The peep isn't strong and not very often so I hope the girl makes it. Time will tell though. Wish me luck!!!!!!!

Shelley-What kind of bator you got? I have a hova with forced air and mine always hatch a day early and thats with temps at 100 on the nose!!!!

jessika- Did you get any chicks????

vfem- Any ducks for you yet????

I have an LG with auto turner and added pc fan. I have tried everything, and they still hatch early. I even lowered the temps some this time, all it did was kill most of the eggs. Out of 14 that were developing on day 7, I have 3 chicks. My worst hatch by far!

Oh man!! I saw your name and I just KNEW your eggs were hatching!! It will come soon!

I keep saying " A watched pot never boils " then I walk out to look anyways! HAHAHAHA

Well think of it like this. If they were in a bator, what would everyone be telling you?? DON'T OPEN IT!!! Wonder what it does everytime you pick the eggs out of the nest? Food for thought, maybe that will keep you away!

I usually try not to pick them up, just one yesterday and today... but trying to get them under one hen for the hatch! (Impossible, they won't stop stealing them from one another.)

I wonder how dizzy they are in there?

Ok... you convinced me... no more touch touch.

I have 3 little chicks! So not a great hatch but could be worse. thanks for all the well wishes! I have a Blue Orp Roo coming hopefully and a Black Orp female (bought and paid for) so hopefully more soon. I have learned so much through all of this. Never a wasted experience.

Congrats on all the new little chirps! Good luck for those of you waiting! Dorking eggs go in the hatcher in a week. My candling light broke....so I can't candle but I have a good feeling about these.

I find winter/fall chicks to be perfect for me. No flies, bugs, etc to attract and mild winters here. By Spring/Summer they are laying! Only thing is I noticed mortality does go up (even in the house) in the colder months. A light burnt out recently and I lost a few over night (my poor BR's) but it has advantages.

I'll post pics of my last 3 hatches in a little bit. I have to recharge the battery.

with all the tragedy going on here: old mans plant burned down{no income except unemployment {BIG WOO}, My inside dog Sweetpea got her eye hurt pretty bad {she is my chicken feeding dog helper except she steals eggs} and my Poor Miss Sadie{getting her well and she is going to make it} I can still be happy about my newbies. This morning we woke up to another baby and this one is another screamer. This makes # 5 and I couldn't be any happier. There are 3 eggs left that I had to take away for Miss LuLu to make her come off the nest to care for the two she had hatched out 4 days earlier. What the

was Lulu thinking!

Anyway on the 16th I set 9 ee's eggs. Have I lost my mind. With no income how am I going to buy feed???????

Jessika, at least you got three. There will be more love for those little guys. Have fun with them.
