Who is pipping and waiting right now??

My one egg that pipped about noon today hasn't really done anything else. The third one that pipped has chipped part of the shell away and I can see the membrane, and it's peeping, but it doesn't seem to be getting to far with zipping any more shell. It's been working on this for about an hour and a half. I hope it doesn't dry out in there.
I'm so nervous and worried as this is our first hatch.

I went to take the guinea eggs out of the turner and there was one hatching! It was only day 23! So, it tried to hatch and hatch, I only had to help a bit, I think the humidity hadn't been raised yet for the hatching and the membrane was a bit dry, so after it got all hatched I got the membrane off and got it out, the others are not even pipping yet. I was afraid to leave it in there and risk the chance of that hatch to go goofy! So, it is in the little brooder with the lamp and temp. gage.
At last a guinea!!!!
Hope for the best with the others!

Today is day 18 for my remaining 4 bantam blue orpingtons. Keep your fingers crossed. I have not had very good hatches lately. I think with the heat wave and running the air and so forth it has just been hard for my bator to keep the temps and humidity right. And I think my hygrometer is not working properly. But they are candled and all moving and I have just put them into the hatcher. So keep your fingers crossed. Great to see all the new babies being hatched.

Update from 5/23. The BLRW's finally stopped hatching (3 days). Longest hatch I have ever had. The last 2 are in horrible shape and I am currently feeding them by hand. Out of 22 fertile eggs, I have hatched 15.5 birds. I am not sure this last one is a whole bird. It may bite the dust before the evening is over, but does appear to be doing a little better since this morning. I am surprised it lasted through the night. I would show pic's but I am not sure how to get pictures on the internet. The healthy ones look great.

We had two broody's sitting on 16 eggs. We had 12 hatch, 7 are in with the broodys and 5 are in the brooder (the hens pecked these).

All are doing well and really, really cute.

This has been a good experience for my son who raises chickens for 4-H. He helped treat the 2 chicks who were pecked hard enough to bleeding.

Here are a couple of pics of our new additions.

Well my hatch is done, I have blue orps from jimmy47 and hatched in a forced air LG.

15 eggs
2 no go
2 ended first week
5 made it to hatch day and quit
1 piped air sack but not egg and quit
5 VERY HAPPY FUZZY BUTT IN THE BROODER

For my second hatch I was very happy with the results. I sure wish I would be able to find out why they make it right to hatch and then quit on me. Membrane is fine nice and soft not hard to get thru they just quit breathing.

Next hatch is in 2 Hova bators

1st has 15 dorkings and 12 banties old english and ameracuanas

2nd has 18 buffs and buff bared rock crosses (only a couple of these)

Happy Hatching all and congrats
