Who is pipping and waiting right now??

And I just found out I have 125 coturnix eggs in the mail!!!

LOL! I'm addicted, big time. These babies are the sweetest things. And they seem to survive the shipping (knock on wood!!!) very well.

My little Bobwhite was a day early, so I popped the next two in the hatcher a day early, in hopes that they'll hatch tomorrow.

Two more there, then about 10 more in the incubator, coming out every couple of days. It's hard when you only have one pair laying eggs!!!

congrats everyone!!!
Yesterday I checked on my sitting mallard, the smell was overwhelming.

I counted the days and it was way past time. I broke the eggs

one had a tiny duckling in it but it must have died as it was smelling "ripe"

. Others were just greenish liquid.
Now someone should have reminded this old person to break them far away from the house...not a hundred feet away!!
Three of the dogs found the remains of the eggs

I had to hose down those spots and then bathe the dogs, who by the way, thought they smelled wonderful from rolling in the egg shells.

I have a few eggs due in the mail this week. Hopefully, they will sucessfully hatch. Please pray that they do as I have wanted blue orps. Post office does a number on the eggs even though they were wrapped to perfection and they never hatched so I am trying once more.

Oooh... another blue orp person to do a nekkid pagan dance by the full moon with the rest of us to ensure our hatch rate...

LOL! I am waiting... I have two more bobwhites in the hatcher, and more to follow over the next few days. The one that hatched yesterday survived the night!

The gal that sent me the Red Dorking eggs offered to send more for the price of shipping... how sweet is that?!? I didn't ask for it either, since it was the PO's fault that the chicks didn't hatch. My "control" mutt eggs are developing just fine along with the shipped eggs that are dying, so it HAS to be the shipping process. But I really want to hatch a mate for her.

Hey Tori, I am on day 18 with my dorkings, pray they hatch I have 15 and they are in a hova and were not shipped so I am hoping that all is well. If these make it and then lay eggs I swear that next spring I am sending you chicks. We got to get a dorking flock in Alaska and I am making it my goal.

I also have 12 banties Ameracuana and old english , maybe a mix of those too.

And 18 buff orps and some possiable barred rock/buff mixes. I am excited about the mix and hope I get a Hawkeye or a Zane, wish I lived closer to the lady with the Hawkeye son that is trying to rehome him.

Anyway day 18 all local eggs and in Hova bator 1588's so I sure hope I have a good hatch, of course I was happy with my 2 LG hatches.

Congrats and Happy Hatching everyone.
