Lol yup. I will I usually wait one or two after no hatches but the rest of the eggs when candled looked rotted so I didn't expect to see the lil guy peeping in there. And now I have no more issues with temp spikes now I have my incubator housed differently. I'm finally willing to try and incubate serama eggs. I won some on ebay!

I have a couple silver grey cockerels last of the bunch from Ideal before they sold out and I got one SG Dorking from Steve (Skennedy) hoping it's a pullet. Might try asking if he has anymore or will set. He was willing to hatch them out.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and I already love it. I have 11 game egg's in a home made bator. I have no idea what day the egg's are on. Something killed the mama hen while I had went to town. I have many hen's setting right now but they are overflowing with egg's I snuck in on them. I had been working on my bator for a couple of day's when the dredful event happened so my temp's and stuff are iffie. I do have some comfadence because I hatched a single egg in a minnow bucket year's ago. Any idea's how to tell what stage they might be in? I don't know how to candle. I alway's let my hen's worry about that. lol I have 2 hen's sitting on the same nest. It's really funny watching a hen return to the nest and taking her beak and raking egg's out from the other one for her to sit on.

Do a search for "candling eggs" here on the forum... there are several threads about how to do it. From there you should be able to tell if they're developing, or have movement. I guess, that is, if you can see into them. I've never tried to candle game hen eggs before...

One Ameraucana from Jean won the race overnight. Pipped, zipped, and no one even watching.

Four more pips in progress....more from Jean plus some EE's from eBay.

I'm jazzed. These are all shipped eggs, so I was not expecting much of anything. I've already got enough to make me happy. More is just gonna be icing on the cake.

Susan
