I fear we've lost two during the zipping process, but there is still time I suppose.. I don't see any activity.. and one was the only blue orp egg in there.

4 are in the brooder, seperated from the 3 days olds... scared the nonesense out of the 3 day olds though! LOL.. they didn't know WHAT they heck those new little chirpy things were!

I have an Ameraucana broody sitting on 5 Welsummer eggs. This morning, I heard peeping, and she has one chick hatched so far. My other broody is sitting on 7 BBS Orp eggs. The next 24 hours should be interesting!!!!!

Okay, I have 2 of my mutt eggs hatched and two of my "extras" from DipsyDoodle hatched. One is quite a bit smaller than my mutts. I'm afraid it will get picked on. Do they just learn to get along since they were all born together? I have one more pipped and 4 others just sitting there. Day 21 doesn't end until today at 2 and I will keep them in there through tomorrow before I give up on the them. Not too bad for my first hatch though. The girls have had a great time singing to them while they are hatching and watching the whole thing take place!

I have come to the conclusion that waiting for shipped eggs is about as bad as the last three days of incubation

I have 21 eggs in the bator that are about to hatch. I saw one pip last night and this morning I see one more. I"m sure there are others that I just can't see. these are all buff orpingtons.

Four beautiful big Cochin babies hatched yesterday--2 amazing silvery blue and 2 that will be black-- had to help the last 2 babies- I think they ran out of room to move , one had a wing pasted, dried and stuck tight to its face holding the head under the wing, the membrane was dried out -- but anyway everyone is in the brooder now and doing great, these are my first Cochins, and how's that for a run-on sentence!!!

Vicki in Michigan-- time to clean the hatcher and get ready for Sunday-- Silver Phoenix, Seramas, and Polish go in !

My husband said I am just as bad as the kids when it comes to watching these hatch and playing iwth them lol.
