I DID IT!!
Actually they did it! I had to call my friend, Mrs. AK Bird Brain...to make sure I wasn;t imagining the peeping noises coming out of the bator. I had three coturnix eggs in there, as well as 2 green eggs, and 2 bantam eggs.
I hovered over the bator ALL day yesterday. I watched them wiggle around, and the cracks in the shell get bigger and bigger, and when my hubby came home, we ran to the store. I sure wished I had stayed home, because in the 20 minutes we were gone, it happened. I had all three quail in there...A day late. and a day early, the green egg was wiggling, and I saw cracks on the bantam eggs. 4:45 am, I heard them. There was a really wet black blob...(Out of my green egg) and a slightly smaller golden one. (Banty) and at 6:30, there was another banty in there.
WOOHOO!!!!!
I have chicks!!!
Tori, thank you so much for getting me hooked!!!
I can't wait to see what the rest are going to look like
The last one was still attached by his cord to the shell, but he broke free, and is peeping to join his buddies in the brooder box. I'm dying to open it, but he's still wettish looking.
Waiting is the hardest part!!!
I have 2 more green eggs, 2 more brown eggs, and 4 banty eggs that are set to hatch on sunday, and 8 more quail eggs set to hatch on monday, and the rest of mt eggs from Tori due to hatch on sept 8...I'm also going to try to hatch more quail...my little nephew "needs some", he says.
