Interesting! I didn't realize Marans came in this color. Well darn, now I really might need to get an incubator this year and see what he might produce when mixed with my ladies. Maybe I'll get some Marans this year, too....https://www.cacklehatchery.com/product/french-black-tailed-red-marans/

Its possible he could be mixed with that, but he wouldn’t be pure, as he’s got the wrong color legs and beak. He’s also buff, not red.https://www.cacklehatchery.com/product/french-black-tailed-red-marans/

I only know about them because I want dark eggs, but didn't want Black Copper Marans because I already have Black Jersey Giants and Black Sexlinks. I ordered hatching eggs that are currently in the mail.Interesting! I didn't realize Marans came in this color. Chicken math is really mathing this year.
I had to take a second look at his picture . . . I'd say he's more red than buff, defiantly darker than my Buff Orpingtons, but lighter than a RIR . . . we'll call it ginger, lol.Its possible he could be mixed with that, but he wouldn’t be pure, as he’s got the wrong color legs and beak. ... oh DARN, right? To see what color egg genes he is carrying, I guess you'll have to test hatch!!!![]()
