I put mine in four days ago, so I'm with you and BEST of luck. These weren't shipped I drove to go get them, they're all from speckledhen! I added three of my own PR eggs to fill it out. So 26 in.

Good luck on the shipped eggs that's always exciting and scary.

I put 16 shipped Dutch eggs in last night, won them on ebay. Added 10 of my own Gold Laced Cochin to try and fill the bator. I also have silkies and cochin hatching this weekend.

I lay mine on the side. I feel if a mother hen hatches them that way, that is how it should be.

By the way, my 4 banties started their sitting yesterday, so they are 1 day ahead of us. Last time they hatched 2 out of 12 and I hatched 25 out of 32. So they are with us on this also, just a day ahead. I figured if I am trying again, I may as well let them try again also.

I loved they color and the way they looked. If this fails I may just end up having to purchase day olds.

Barnwife, did you have you andies shipped and hatch them yourself? I have always been told 3rd time is a charm, I am just hoping it will be the 2nd time instead.


Walkswithdogs, isn't that cheating driving to get the eggs?

I may have to do the same thing if I fail this hatch. Once again I have about 60 eggs in the bator and cannot find my neighbor to borrow his. My just have to stop by when I see him home, or go purchase another one and let hubby throw a fit for a day or two. He always seems to get past it sooner or later.
By the way, I purchased a female GSD due to complication with my females pregnancy. I will post a pic for you to see. I will say she is a character.


Amysue, Ebay is where I won my first batch of Andies and my Jersey Giants. My first batch of Andies flopped and I was just happy the lady was nice enough to send me more. I mean I did kill off the first before they even got out of the shell. Hope my Temp/Hum thermometer gets here soon.

Count me in, please! I will be putting in 15 Java eggs later tonight that I won off of ebay.

I have 12 Silkies in the bator now which I am expecting to hatch on May 4th. However, I only think 3 of them are good - 2 I'm not sure about.

My andy eggs are due to arrive and be set by May 3. I am also setting speckled sussex and blue eggs at that time....and whatever else I feel like buying and setting till my bators are fit to explode

I am an addict ...my gunea eggs might be in at that time, too....

and to think, six months ago I was in a place where i had ZERO birds...and now I have over 150 PLUS over 200 eggs in my bators and more scheduled.

Can I join this group... pleasssseeee?!? I put 12 eggs in the bator today (4-24-09). These too were shipped, but I got them mixed up, so I have no idea what I just put in.

I'm currently waiting on 4 blue slate turkey eggs and 9 guinea eggs to arrive so I can squeeze them in too.

Well I had a big booboo. I put my eggs in and had to stack some, incubator was on over load.

Thank God my friend got home. I took him all the eggs that were going to hatch on the 13th, so it made plenty of room for my shipped eggs. So I have staggered hatches and the 1st is due Monday or Tuesday and then on the 5th and then my shipped eggs on or around the 15th (better be on the 15th, no later than the 16th or I will just cry). I will be candling between day 5 and 7, so fingers crossed.

Count me in! I just had my first hatch this past weekend. 34 of 37 RIR, BSL and assorted bantams all from my hens. This time around I have 16 amaricauna eggs from Dipsy Doddle Doo and 15 golden cucoo maran eggs from pasofinafarm that went in the bator yesterday afternoon. Good luck all!
