Are you seeing movement inside them? You have 4 days, check in 3 days and you should see movement inside. If you do not see movement, I would check on day 21 and if still no movement, open the end with the air sac on 1 egg, that will tell you if you need to do a rescue or not. Be very careful not to tear the membrane. Which if the chick is shrink wrapped it should not be a problem. If they are, follow the same procedure I did, but do not put the damp paper towel over the beak.

Now if the chick is fine, do not open the other eggs and wrap the opened one in a wet paper towel.

You will loose some chicks doing this, but you will also save some.

I posted asking what the HUGE air sac was a while back and no one could answer. So only after all my chicks died and I opened the shell did I realize what the problem was. My last 2 JG have a large air sac and they are on rescue watch, all eggs put in after the problem was determined seem fine. I guess I will know in the next few days.

I am having as much patience as I can.

My Resuce has gave me a Blue Andalusian chick, which looks just like a Blue Jersey Giant chick and a Splash Jersey Giant. I am so looking forward to getting more of each and trying one more time.

I am serious though, one more time.

Okay, someone just smack me.

I just opened a little corner in my incubator, enough room for a dozen or so eggs and so I ordered 12 Blue Andalusian eggs to fill the empty spot.

Well the person I ordered from had some Appenzeller Spitzhauben, well mine were killed and taken by the coyote, so I ordered 6 eggs and then 6 Blue Copper Maran and last but not least 6 Blue Birchen Maran.

Hubby is going to kill me.

Fingers crossed that I have everything right this round.

That is only 30 more eggs.....I bet he won't even notice!!!

If he DOES notice the "extra" eggs, and asks where they came from, just say you've had them and just waiting to put them in the bator....

I posted my shrink wrap problem / large air sac problem in another thread and it was mentioned that perhaps my humidity was not high enough.

I moved to the hatcher this afternoon and most still had movement.

I have raised my humidity in both bator and hatcher.

Here's hoping for the best!

At least the payment may not say what I purchased.

But like he would not be able to figure it out. The only thing I ever order with his paypal is eggs.

As always, he will get over it.

I will just tell him this is the last batch and then he can have the guest bathroom back, which he never used until I put the incubator in there. Got upset with it in the spare room so this time I put it in the bathroom, now he wants to be upset about that to. I think he just needs to get a life. If he would just hatch one batch he would be excited, I think.

Take my money, my credit cards and my car keys, but don't take my incubator.
