I've lost two of my best chickens last night and today. My chickens do sleep above the ground, they sleep on branches of the tree. I have no problems at the start, they fly on the tree to sleep and get down when the sun rises in the morning. But yesterday I was so devastated to see that one of my chickens fell off the tree lying on the ground with bruised neck and head. There is no big incision in the neck but there is a sign of bleeding. I feel so bad about how my favorite chicken died, not knowing the reason of it. I really feelbad for I treat all my chickens as pets. That's why last night I decided to put my chicken inside a cage so they will be safe at night. But unfortunately, one of my chickens was left outside and slept in the tree. And again as I woke up this morning I've found him dead with same state of how my chicken died yesterday. I live in the Philippines that's why we do not have fox, opossum or what. Is it possible that my chickens was killed by a bigger bird or a bat? I don't really know what predator am I dealing with.
