I went out to the shed today and what did I find? Our first egg!!:wee
My Pekin is around 8 months old and our cayugas are 6 months. I first assumed it was the Pekin, but then I seen black feathers in the nest. Of course it doesn’t necessarily mean anything. But I don’t know if Pekins normally lay a certain type of egg. The white egg is a chickens egg for reference.

My boys were so excited! But also concerned that the baby duck inside the egg died since it is 15 degrees and the egg was frozen.:lau

I honestly don’t remember the exact content, but our local vet assistant who has worked with the vet for 20 years said it’s what he feeds his ducks. And no I haven’t offered oyster shell yet since they haven’t started laying yet. But I guess I am now!

Purina makes several game bird chows. Double check that it's not the 30% protein.
