who on here thinks sphynx cats are pretty

I am a big time cat lover. Have 6 house cats and a bunch of barn cats outside. I have to be honest tho and say I don't think I could have one.

That cute cat would make an excellent commercial for those cell phone companies... Can u hear me now.... Good!! LMAO

Yep, mine does those twists and half-flips all over. Constantly running through the house. He is three years old.
Gotta constantly clean his ears, like the Sphynx. My coworker just got a sphynx- and I tease her all the time that I want him to be a friend for Radar.

He is really warm and snuggly, but always thinks he is cold. He sits right on the heat vent when it comes on- cuddles up tight at night.

Everyone should have one.

Thats how he got his name...those ears.

Gaitedhorse, he really is cute, in a pudgy bald old man, type of way...
It looks like he has some ear mites. No big deal. Make a solution of peroxide and water, one to one. Put about 5-6 drops in each ear and squidge the ear to get it into the ear canal (Squidge... Is it even a word? lol). Wait a minute or two and then use a cotton ball to get out the gunk you can easily get to. Don't use Q-tips, it will actually push the stuff further into the ear. Do this once per day, some poeople say twice a day but I've found the peroxide too harsh to use THAT often, using twice a day will kill off all of the good bacteria in the ear as well.
The black gunk is the feces of the ear mite. Until you're not seeing new black gunk, you still have mites.
If at any time you notice a foul odor and discharge that isn't black, kitty may have a yeast infection and need medicine from a vet.

We use this in the rescue I volunteer for and it works 99.9% of the time.

Fabio sure is handsome, I want to squish him and play with his belly fat

Mine's ears don't get too bad, its his feet that get gross for some reason - he's indoor cat only, so has to use a litter box and I think thats the problem - those little bits of litter get stuck in his feet/claws and are just nasty!

The sphynx and cornish (and possibly devon) breeds are prone to dirty ears. You can see Radars in the picture I posted- first pic, dirty ears, second pic, clean ears.
No mites though. Just black gunk.
When i first got Radar, I figured that he had ear mites. Took him to work to do a mite swab- but it was just gunk.

ANd Wildsky,

Yes, nasty gunk around the nails on his FEET too...probably from the litterbox. i figure that because they dont have the hair to protect them from the worlds' nasties that lurk everywhere...lol.

He is amazing. He looks so content and cozy in his sweater. Love it!

I have been reading along in this thread for the past couple of days and I just have to say that I have always LOVED Sphynx! My Mom and I used to breed and show Maine Coons. Every time we went to the cat shows, a friend of hers would have his Sphynx there! He would let me carry them up to the show ring and back! I just love them!!

Your little guy is just adorable!!
