Who ordered birds this spring and what did you get?

I ordered chicks from ideal, they are a week old and doing great:
1 - turken
5 - OEGB
1 - partridge cochin
1 - Red frizzle cochin
2 - buff cochins
1 - grey cochin
2 - white leghorns

First time laying hen raising experience and expecting these on Feb. 14th from Ideal:

12 - Ideal 236s (like a California White I believe)
12 - Black Australorps
12 - Ameracaunas

I hope we chose good laying breeds....can't wait for them to come in!!!

We plan to pick who we are keeping then raise the rest for meals. We are building a 3 season shelter for them and have the chicken coop for the rest. Anyone else ordered these assortments from Meyer before?

I am so jealous that you all can have so many chickens! My city chicks will be coming on March 16th!!! I am only allowed two for city permits and regulations.
We will be getting them from our local feed mill, 1 Barred Plymouth Rock and 1 Deleware. Hopefully girls! We hope those will be good WI family- friendly birds that provide us a few eggs a week!

Picking up my first chicks on March 19th.

Not to sure about the jersey giants, may be a bigger chicken than I bargained for. I was picking breeds for their cold tolerance since I live in NE Ohio. I am excited to get started. Ordered probably more than I should have but also since this is my first foray into the world of chickens, some may unfortunately not make it. On the plus side since I am relatively near Meyer, hopefully their 'travel' won't be too stressful. I showed my oldest daughter (4 yrs old) the pictures today of the types of chicks we are getting. She is already trying to think of names . . .
