Who quacks first?

My little ducklings are "going through puberty" and some have starting making little tootie noises instead of peeps - but who changes first, boys or girls? I don't remember!

Females Quack first and the males will still peep or i call it whisper like they have a sore throat.
Pick them up and if they Quack loudly it's a female if it peeps or whispers it's a male.

Girls are loud, loud, loud. Boys are frog-like and raspy. I don't remember who quacks first, but I could tell the loud-mouthy girls right away.

the girl did for us, she got the deeper voice and the drake kept peeping for a long time before going froggy...
