Who sells eggs with poo on them?

I have only had chickens for 3 weeks, but have already got over 6 dozen eggs from my 6 hens. I don't plan on selling any, but have given some away to friends and family. After gathering the eggs, I gently rub them with my hands under lukewarm running water and dry them with a paper towel before putting them in the fridge. I have a mix of straw and wood shavings in my nesting boxes and rarely have anything on the eggs other than a little bit of saw dust anyway.

We always wash ours that are not for hatching and when they have that little stain mark or a blemish that doesn't come off easy I just rub it with a magic eraser sponge and it takes it right off.

Thanks for the congrats. I love to meet fellow food revolutionaries! I have canned a little....peaches (nightmare!) and jam, but I have never tried meat. What are the advantages, how long does it store for? I struggle with canning, but I know I need to keep trying. DH seems to think I should can everything because that's what his mother does. I told him I will can again as soon as he cans a bushel of peaches all by himself without mommy to help him (he "canned" beans with her help, ie he snapped them while she did ALL of the canning). Can you tell I'm annoyed
