Who shows dogs?

Thats understandable, but at least you get to still enjoy the breed ^^

I breed and show Jack Russell Terrier's. I show with the J.R.T.C.A.(Jack Russell Terrier Club of America) not AKC. It's the largest Jack Russell Registry in the world. Here is a video I put together with some events that happen at a JRTCA show... So much fun!

And here is a video a friend of mine made.

We used to show St. Bernards, had many champions, etc., also did some handling of other breeds, etc. Had the #1 brood grump in the country in 1982 and she is in the St. Bernard Hall of Fame with 1 Level of Excellence...then...we had kids!...and they went to private school, and one or the other had to go and they wouldn't let us sell the kids! ha

It was a great time, though, and on a recent cruise we happened to sit at a table with "dog people" and talked dog shows for the entire dinner, til everybody else was gone! I still watch Westminster to see how many people I know (hey, how'd those people get so OLD?), and once saw a feature on a St. Bernard owner/handler that I beat out of the classes for a Specialty Best in Show (with a grump) that was kind of fun to watch.

Anyway, we are definitely 'downsized' to chickens now, but our showing/competition days are over. Not interested in that aspect anymore. I am a new grandma and expecting grandchild #2 anytime now, so have plenty to keep me busy, along with my chickens.

Ha I just read my own post above and realized the word for female dog has been automatically replaced with the word "grump"...totally inappropriate in this context...and ridiculous.

Years ago I put a novice agility title on my very first rescue Tervuren. She was incredibly fast and talented; I held her back

Then got my third Belgian, as a puppy, and went on to finish his championship. We started working on competitive obedience and agility, but after I moved out to 'the country' , it was too far, and inconvenient, to continue. Now he's just my big baby and constant companion. He's my only dog that I got 'on purpose'; the other 3 are rescues.
