Who started their seeds already

:thumbsup Mine are still seeds in a packet for another few weeks.

Tomato plants grow very fast. I will run a fan on them daily to try to strengthen up the stems. Petting them helps to to stimulate a stronger stem too. Though when I plant they get buried up to their top leaves, with all lower leaves removed, and all that stem becomes root.
Someone told me running a fan makes for stronger stems. I have been blowing on them any time i look at them. Figure CO2 and wind is good:)

I fell for the warm spring like weather we were having some 80 plus degree days! Well I went ahead and planted a bunch of seeds outdoors. Well 2 days after planting we had over a week of nights down in the 20s. Some days are not making it to 50! Lol. Not going to fall food for that again. Some are coming up though. Lettuce, greens, radishes, spinach maybe? Lol. Going to start spring stuff inside this week.

Cold crops can take frosts and snow on them, so those are the ones now growing for you. I will start mine outside as soon as the ground thaws, whenever that is.

I planted some pelleted tomato seeds, and they are by far doing better than the non-pelleted seeds. They are at least 2x as tall and were planted on the same day. I turned on a fan at 4 weeks to help harden the stems. Nearly 300 tomatoes and peppers right now. I"ll start my cucumbers and squash soon.

On the 25 February I planted loads of seeds, I'm trying Charles Dowding (my no dig guru!) multisowing ideas - so instead of just 1 beetroot for example I'll grow 4 together - apparently it really increases your yields in a smaller space - you get slightly smaller veg but 4 instead of 1! If you are interested lots of videos on youtube and info on his website.
  • Dill - 4 (3 per cell)
  • Beetroot - 4 (4 per cell)
  • Swiss Chard - 12 (3 per cell)
  • Coriander - 8 ( 3 per cell)
  • Spring Onions - 8 (8 per cell)
  • Radish - 12 (5 per cell)
  • Welsh Onions (perenial) - 8 (I think forgot to write it down)
  • Rocket
  • Zinnias x 12
  • Cosmos x 12

My date is after Memorial Day..

I have a grow system in my basement..I start early with my herbs and now some medicinal plants...I went way overboard with my Cheyenne spirit, Baga, and
Purple echinacea seeds because I have almost 300 seedlings that germinated with more germinating every few days.

The others I’m growing are sage, oregano, cumin, thyme, feverfew, horehound, marshmallow, rosemary,Calendula, chives so far..
