Who wants to hatch with me DUCKY EGGS went in bator today

My chocolate call duck eggs are blue and they were actually very easy to candle. I think the hardest to candle are the dark brown chicken eggs. I've had some of them that I just couldn't see into no matter how powerful my flashlight was.

Its really cool to see the ducks developing! Call ducks take between 24-26 days so hopefully I'll have some sweet little chocolate call ducks by the end of the month!

Today is day 7 and I broke down and tried to candle. My 4 Rouen eggs all have little embryos with veining. However, I don't think i saw anything on the Muscovy. The room wasn't real dark and I'm wondering if you have to wait a bit longer with them since it takes 35-37 days to hatch. Does anyone know? I purchased these from a reputable seller and they were packaged perfectly. I find it hard to believe that all 10 are duds.

Thanks!

so eggs look good saw some ducks moving But a few eggs look weird i see a duck moving but i just cant explain it well its like the yolk looks split i will try to take a picture tonight to show everyone to see what yall think. How is everyones eggs doing?

Good to hear the duckies are doing well!

Out of the original 12 duck eggs I set 3 were clear. On day 7 or 8 I added 8 chicken eggs to the bator. I candled the chicken eggs last night and I could see veining in some but not all but it is early so I will try again soon. I love candling. I understand now why so many people become hatchaholics!!

I don't know anything about muscovy duck eggs except that they take longer so they may take longer to candle.

A split yoke may be that you have twins starry and they can be difficult to hatch. They almost always die unless assisted from what I've been told.

Yesterday we had a power outage from 3am until 9:30am. I was freaking out. The temp in my bators went down to 73 and that was with blankets on top of them. I'm hoping my babies are going to be okay after such a huge temperature drop.

Hope everyone is doing okay.

Okay so I knew that I only had 4 Muscovy developing but I was hoping for a miracle. Out of the 10 eggs I purchased 3 were scrambled, 3 really looked to be infertile as I didn't see the "dot" anywhere, & 4 are still growing. The 4 from my duck are growing away. I hope the 4 remaining Muscovy make it. If they do they will be some pricey ducks. LOL!

Well here is the picture i have several eggs that look like this I can see a baby moving in them. My last batch I did not have this maybe the eggs were to old some were 3 weeks. I dont know maybe somebody has seen this before??
Wow offshore that stinks I hope the other babies make. I just bought 6 muscovey 1 day olds and omg they r so cute.
Laurie you know i had temp ups and downs i have this gadget of hubbies that is a Infa red Temp reader it has a laser on it you point and shoot is supossed to be most acurate you can buy. So i checked my eggs temp said 97 with the degital reader i shot the eggs they were 98 and 99 so you never know the eggs might be warmer then the thermo is reading. I hope they make it

I put 13 blue swedish eggs in the incubator on 5/13 - so tomorrow is 1 week. I am so excited. I have hatched 2 batches of chickens and these are my first ducks. I have read varying hatch times depending on the breed of duck. Can anyone tell me when to pull my turner out and when to expect my hatch - I was planning to pull the turner on day 26/27 then hatch around day 30 but I saw where some types of ducks hatch around day 24? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I know most hatch on day 28 muscovey on day 35. I took mine out of the turner on day 25. good Luck
