Who wants to hatch with me DUCKY EGGS went in bator today

I checked mine again i tossed 4 egg 3 non fertile 1 early death.

My rouen angle is still sitting on her nest i took a stick and lifted her behind up I think she is sitting on 12 eggs or so. So once they have a nice clutch of eggs they stop laying eggs for awhile? How long after the ducks hatch do they resume laying? Just currious if anyone knows let me know

Candled mine last night,had 10 with good development, had to cull 2, 9 days left,I'm excited. Oh yeah a guy just gave me 12 babies,I got to figure out what they are ,I think some are red star. I'll keep them seperate from My other flock for a while to see how things go.

My Rouen momma is setting AGAIN! I didn't think she had started laying again because i didn't see any eggs. Well apparently she was covering them with the hay that was in her "dog house". She sure fooled me. I'm not sure how many eggs she is setting on but it looks to be about 10 or so. Her last hatch she started with 20 and she hatched 6 ducklings. However we had a case of the chicken snake because it stole my broody Orpington's eggs as well. We fixed that problem though.

My Rouen started laying again around 4-5 weeks after the ducklings hatched. I read somewhere that at 6 weeks or so they consider their ducklings grown and just part of the flock.

I added 11 Blue Swedish eggs to the bator today. I hope I fair better with these than the Muscovy. I really want some more Muscovy eggs to hatch but will have to wait until this fall or next spring.

I still have a ways to go my first eggs are not due until June 4th.

Well she is still sitting which is great when she get up to get water at night another female sits on them LOL. I counted 15 so we shall see. Eggs in bator are growing strong look right on schedule. Still to early to tell about the others i threw in on the 17. Another rouen is laying eggs in barn under dhs mider saw LOL. Chickens in other bator are hanging on thus far have not baked them to bad ,with temp swings.

OMG forgot i had a egg explode in the bator OMFG it smelt like death warmed over whats weird is it was one i had just put in 4 days ago. It did not fully blow up TG but i had to take out that row in the egg turner to get the egg out it was baked in . Took me 20 mins to get the shell unstuck it was so gross.

I had a baby hatch, he is 3ish days early but geez he's cute lol

Congrats on the early hatch. I'm getting more and more antsy! Mine are due within the next week!! So many things have happened during this incubation. I'm hoping I have a successful hatch.

Starry, I can't believe you had an egg explode. EWWWWWWWW! I know that had to just stink!

I just found this, I have 14 eggs in the bator due to hatch the 30th. They are already sold, talk about counting your duckling before they hatch!
