Who wants to hatch with me DUCKY EGGS went in bator today

I set a dozen Blue Swedish eggs on May 5th. I counted May 6th as day one. I removed 3 clears and one early quitter, leaving me 8 eggs. I was expecting them to hatch on Tuesday(ish). I locked down the bator yesterday.

Today I have 7 pips!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, while I am extremely excited, I'm also a little concerned. Will they hatch ok? I know an early hatch probably means my temps were a little high which I'll adjust for the next batch.

I added chicken eggs on day 7 or 8, but no pips yet from the chicks...

Time is passing so slowly now, I hope I have fuzzy ducklings soon!!

suggests that ducklings pip, then rest for 24 hours before zipping.

Has this been true in your experience?

If so then I feel much better about my eggs pipping 2 days early!!

Yes mins did that last time. I now have all three rouen females on nest LOL and 30 or so eggs in bator so i hope to have more babies soon. good luck

I have chicks hatching today! One little blue bantam orpington has made it's way into the world. I have 3 more eggs that have pipped. They are eggs from home and 3 more bantam orps that haven't pipped yet. They were all still alive last night but I don't want to risk candling them again. Just have to leave that bator alone and hope for the best. Tonight if they haven't pipped yet I may take a look at them. Have some issues with my bator temp. Hoping to get it square away within the next little bit. I'm just giving it some time while I type this.

And 3 of 4 buff orpington eggs I added have pipped

This is so cool, I can see why people are so addicted to hatching!

As soon as the ducklings dry off it will be portrait time

I have two broody ducks on 25 eggs. One is my female mallard Daisy and the other is crystal one of our black runner ducks. Crystal started it and now Daisy has joined in. This is day 3.
