Who was your oldest bird and how long did he/she live?

An old Rhode Island Red hen. I believe she made it to ten, if I remember right.

I have 3 5-year old hens. They are some of my original hens that I started with.

I had a sweet little Bantam Cochin hen, Jenna. She lived to be 13. Now I have 4 five year old hens and one five year old rooster and two Bantam Cochin hens that are close to four years old. My oldest living bird is Tweety, a fourteen year old white dove.

Our oldest one is now 5. I knew somebody with a mixed-breed hen that made it to eight.

Our oldest hen is a 6 1/2 year old RIR. She laid for 6 years and she thinks she's around 8 months old.

My big Betty....A Speckled Sussex. Laid an occasional egg until she was 8. And boy did we hear about it when she laid!! At ten she was still active & never sick a day in her life. Early one morning I found her dead in a nest box. I think she died in her sleep. Sigh.....still miss her.
