(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I started raising chickens myself in 2014 when I returned home to my parents home to help my mom care for my dad who was dying. I never thought I would love them like I do!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I or should I say we, because my husband loves them just as much, if not more currently have 33.

(3) What breeds do you have? We have Jersey giants, Rhode Island reds, Barred Rocks, and some whites.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? stumbled on it through a google search

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I have pigs-Kune Kunes=painting

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Currently I dont work outside the home, but i work all day at the home. We have 2 dogs a chihuahua and a Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepard. We also have 2 cats. We have ducks, Pekin and Muscovies. We have a few guineas and are now dabbling in pheasants,, I am extremely busy.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
