we never trust our barn cats to be any where neer the youngsters they will kill at the drop of a hat.
we had to have a tom put down that had killed some of our adult bantams, tried to get a standard turkin hen ripped her throat pretty bad, and jumped on a sebright and was tring to kill her luckly I was in the barn and came running when I heard the hen screaming. Since we had the tom taken care of we have had no more deaths. So keep an eye on the cats

My two cats are fine with the chickens i even have a cat named bird belly and she does not mess with the chickens but she loves wild birds yummm....
