whointheheck laid it??

Sussex lay brown eggs and I would bet your unknown brown is from them.

Those poor bitty banties..ouch.

If it was one of the Sussex, wouldn't they have large-fowl-sized yolks?

I'll keep checking, and see if they keep coming!

If they're just coming into lay the eggs and yolks tend to be smaller until they're in productin a while. You should see size improve.

If you get anymore double yokers, you should try to hatch them!!

Jody -- I meant the white eggs, not the brown one. I wouldn't be surprised about that brown pullet egg, no matter which breed laid it. But I *am* gonna watch and see if the big white eggs keep coming.

Hey, maybe I should turn the banty leghorns over and see if one of em has stretch marks!

I was actually very pleased to see those. I've been having trouble hatching my araucana eggs, and I was worried that the roo was shooting blanks. But now I can see that he's doing his job -- I had never had yolks out in the bright sunlight before, and I hadn't noticed the bull's-eyes til I looked at the pic!

I've seen posts on here where people have said their bantam leghorns lay a good-sized egg. Maybe yours are just growing up and starting to lay large eggs now?
