It is not a shell less egg, it is has thin pieces of egg shell sticking to the egg, the shell started to fall off so I stopped touching it. The picture is not good but it is bubbling like soda.Yah there’s just air coming out of solution from the liquid, you can see the same thing if you stick your finger in a glass of water. Give it a shake and the bubbles will come off.
Be advised though that as a shell less egg it may have already been contaminated by bacteria and even pickling it in alcohol may not stop it from breaking down![]()
Rubbing alcohol.Did you use vinegar or booze?
Weird.Just did a little experiment: rubbing alcohol is almost ph neutral,

And when I put in a hard shelled egg, no bubbles. Something to do with being soft I suppose

Ok.Water glassing an egg traps the air inside its shell and keeps it fresh for up to two years. The highly alkaline PH of the water (caused by powdery white hydrated lime, the masonry type not the agricultural one) also stops bacteria from developing on it, cue its longer time of preservation. Or so I read from several different sites. Your next soft-shelled egg might (I say might cuz this is a theory) have a better chance of keeping its air and freshness if put in hydrated lime next time![]()
