Wendy that one was like a 6.7 - something about quakes. Every point they go up is 10 times stronger. Today's was 5.0, Northridge was 5.4, so that is like 400 times stronger. The San Francisco one that was devestating was a really really strong quake and those happen rarely.

My sister was in labor, back labor, so I was pressing on her back and her DH was looking into her face and helping her focus. After each contraction she would shake a bit. But after this one contraction, everything in the room was shaking! @@@^&*

MY BIL and I looked at each other and then started looking at all the wires and stuff she was hooked up to. Both of us had mentally planned which route we were taking the bed and IVs on to get outside if things didn't stop. Of course they did, but we were ready!

Then I called DH to ask how big the quake was - he and all the kiddos were asleep - they never even felt it! LOL

COOL!!! There are a few of us around the deserts..... Most people don't get the desert. They think that a strong wind is 50 MPH.

Fortunately I'm up a cove so I miss most of the winds - but I've also not missed a few and they are quite memorable!

I've found my chickens do surprisingly well in the desert. The dry air seems to keep them healthy. Or perhaps no bacteria can survive 115'F temps. Whatever works, eh?
