My chicks went from the brooder to the coop last night, they came out this morning and have hid all day, very little food and water, I understand there's probably a little shock but how long does this typically go on dont want any dead birds

When transitioning chicks from brooder to coop, you would want to introduce them to their new coop early enough in the day to give them time to understand where they are before night comes. Any abrupt change is going to be upsetting to chicks. This is why it's a good idea to begin with day trips, increasing the time a bit each day.

Before we try to give you advice, you need to tell us how many adult chickens you have, or none at all. How old are the chicks? How many? Are you restricting them to just the coop or do they have access to the run.

Is it fall or spring where you are? Predators? Secure run?
