Who's been hurt making their coop/run?

Well..by DH, love him to death, is building an awesome coop for me (I mean for the chickens)

Anyway, on Sunday...he was so busy and after hours and hours in the sun, you start getting tired! So while he was busy screwing in the TOP cover of the run, he slipped and the drill kept going, into his thumb!

Grossed me out, so he went inside cleaned it out..but the blood persisted, through the bandage.(Interesting hole)
Maybe and hour later, he decided to switch to nails for a while, and slipped with the hammer and hit his pointy finger! Bruised instantly.
BUT he continued to work for a few more hours!!!

Jim,
I completely understand, My hubby WAS a cabinet maker for over 15 years, had the hand reconstructed once, that was enough....
Nice lookin place you got there, your lucky flock looks very happy. Glad the thumbs ok,
Michelle

Hmm well I'm not in the big leagues like you all, but I got a nice deep sunburn (no it wont turn to a tan, darn my Norwegian roots!) that hurt. I also have a sundry of bumps bruises and scratches on my arms and legs. And I haven't even done much yet, LOL. All I had to do thus far was put a dog kennel together (after getting it off the truck without scratching hubbies truck, yikes) and make a pallet table to raise the doghouse-converted-to-chicken-house off the ground all by myself. It may not sound like much, but without prior experience and without help, just finding the right wrench for the kennel panels was a big victory for me!

So EASY to get hurt when you're dealing with wood!

Injuries building...no

Injuries camping--YES!!!!!!!!

Went to work with 'coon-eyes' for a week!!

My kids would have loved the option to get hurt. Sometime they get tired of the safety rules. I am a Certified Safety Professional with my specialty being constuction. I actually hold 3 professional safety credentials and currently working on a master's degree in safety. When my kids helped me they got tired of all the safety planning; but it paid off NO INJURIES.

Let me just say preemptively that if I'm *not* hurt when the time comes to build my tractor, I will be posting a thread about it and erecting a monument, because it'll surprise the living hello out of me!

*coming from someone probably capable of fatally wounding herself while flossing*

I twisted my ankle really bad. I was proud of myself that there was no cursing - but that is only because as I looked up to drop a bomb, I saw my 8-year-old son looking at my. He said, "daddy, that looks like it hurt!" I just gritted my teach, and said..."go get your mother!"
