Hubby and I were laying down the plywood for the floor of our coop last winter ...it was like 11* and our hands were numb as we hammered...
I laughed and said, " I wonder who will be the first one of us to smash a cold thumb with the hammer..??'' It was me.

Well....DH almost gave me a heart attack when the coop was being built. When he finished the inside and attached the pop hole, my kids ran to get me to check it out. They wanted me to go see if the pop hole was the right size. DH was hiding inside the coop and when I can out, just at the perfect time, he popped his head out through the hole to scare me. I screamed bloody murder!! It was so lound half the neighborhood came running over...

My legs are so bruised and my back hurts.

Went to get a Mother's Day pedicure and they have you roll your pants up so they don't get wet and that lady looked at me weird and I had to explain I have been working on the run. Then had to explain that I couldn't have red on my toenails.

No glitter either. Just a nice french pedi will do fine.

I have more small wounds than I can count... Blood on the walls makes for interesting stories.

When cutting out a wall of my Aluminum shed/Coop with a sawzall i slit the top of my right forearm down to the bone, and lost so much blood in the process i passed out on the bathroom floor. Now I have a wonderful scar to remind me of that day forever.

I put a drill bit through my thumb nail. After it healed up I pulled out a huge piece of fingernail that had gotten imbedded in my finger. Gross! LOL

I am running out of ways to bribe, promise, threaten or punish my 17 year old music addict son to help!!! for DH.... I gave up a long time ago!

So I took him to the chicken coop and showed him how crowded the cooping is getting. ( they ARE getting big!)

then I showed him the brooder pen, ( they are getting BIGGER!)

Then I showed him the bator (24 more and I think they will be piping soon....)

he feels sorry for the chickens and now we are putting together a "pvc cube" with wire 6 ft tall by 25x50 its huge!

I am adding wire this weekend. I got 14 gauge redman electric wire (its bendable) and I will "twist tie" the wire to the pvc and then I bought 15 bags of cement to pour around the base 2 feet in front of the pen. wow! i can't wait!!!!!

The top is wire - but with branches and fronds. THIS IS CHEAP!
