Who's Hatching Ducks? Hatch With Us!! *Page 3*

I have those plastic egg carton things (for putting into cabinet incubators to hold the eggs - like an egg rack without a turner sort of- they are green). I'll probably use those to keep the cardboard carton from wicking up all the moisture.

I think the two that died (and the one internal pip that didn't pip the shell) might have had a better chance with a better positioning.

I want a good hatch on the white ones when I get the eggs - I SO hope the PO doesn't scramble them!!! I haven't had much luck with shipped eggs before. Got 14 buff orp eggs once, from HinkJC - great packing job, still only got two to hatch out the bunch. Also had some cochin eggs shipped - had three out of 20 hatch. With my own eggs, I'm running about a 85% hatch on chicken eggs.

Oh, my broody now has 4 babies out there. The other broody is clucking like she is calling them to come out (I love it when a broody hatches eggs and has babies running around with her.)

Well Meri you are in luck because I have purchased so many eggs this year that I have more bubble wrap than I know what to do with! I'll triple wrap them! I just picked up three for you this morning - up to 8 now. If I wait until Monday to ship you should have at least 12 and maybe 14! Should get at least 5 babies from that number I would think!

Squishy is so cute, looks similiar to my baby ducks. I have about 10 fertile duck eggs and 1 fertile Canadian goose egg due to hatch at the end of the month. I just cannot wait. I bought 2 baby African geese from the coop so that the canadian would have a couple goose buddies, I just could not see her wanting to hang out with a bunch of ducks and that is also what I told hubby so I could get them.

I have around 15 duck eggs due around the first of may they are all buff cross, so im curious to see what color patterns i'll get

My baby buff-khaki cross looks like light colored khaki with eye stripes. No idea what it will look like as an adult though.

i put my eggs in today, and i've been having trouble with the humidity. its been holding at 55% for days, and then i put them in and went down to 40%, then up to 65%. its currently at 50% with a face cloth, two sponges, one long container, and two small bowls. what else could i do? i'm afraid i'm gonna ruin the eggs before they even really start!
