Who's Hatching Ducks? Hatch With Us!! *Page 3*

Oh whew...can you normally see them moving inside the eggs at all? I don't see any movement but I'm hoping that's normal? I know they've got to be cramped in there. I hatch chickens all the time but the eggs are dark so I can't see. I can see into some of the duck eggs with the maglite in the hatcher. Guess I'll just be patient and wait for them to start rocking.

Oh thank goodness. I was afraid they were dead.

I had 5 of my 6 duck eggs hatch yesterday. I started a thread about it called "5 of 6 hatched...pics added 4/11" or something like that in this incubating and hatching section. They are so cute and they are starting to fluff out and run around the brooder box.

Hi everyone! I am new to this and I don't even have my incubator yet. Its in the mail it is a hova bator 1588(I think). It will be here in 5 days. I have started collecting eggs from my 2 muscovy gals. I place them in a cool room pointy side down( doing things right so far?). Well I ordered my incubator and it has a turbo fan. The reading I have done since I placed that order seems to say that duck eggs hatch better in a still air incubator? Is this true? Did I get the wrong incubator? Or can I some how shut the fan off on the one I purchased? (I'm sure I'll have a better idea when I get it as I have only seen pictures online.) Thanks and I can't wait to start and will look to this forum for advice! T

I am a New Egg too. I read the same thing about still incubation for Duck Eggs. Mine is still air but I can buy the fan attachment. I am going to try it still this time and buy the fan down the road if need be.

Good Luck!

I was checking my calendar today and I realized that I have to put the goose eggs in the hatcher on WEDNESDAY!!! OMG where did the month go?

They all look like they're developing - never hatched geese before, I hope they go ok.

These are the 7 american buff goose eggs I got at the auction (bought in the parking lot, not bid on) for 5 bucks for all of them.

I can just see hubby's face if they all hatch - he isn't overly fond of the two I have now (although from their actions, I'm afraid both Benny and Joon are boys - so I need a girl goose or three).
