congrats!!! Looks like we can't type the word e*g*g* anymore without it turning into rooster! I uploaded a picture of two of my babies but I'm trying to figure out how to post it!
Well, my baby girl is still hanging in there - literally
She is all out of the e~g~g except her umbilical hasn't closed totally yet, and it is stuck to the shell. It is open too far for me to feel safe to pull the shell off her. She's moving a bit, and acts like she wants out - but I don't know how it'll turn out.
No action on the others yet - but then, Squishy didn't hatch until the 28th day.
Little Girl is drying out, and I'm afraid the shell will be stuck there and won't let her close up.
Why are ducks harder to hatch for me than chicks??? Chicks just do their own thing - duckies seem to be a problem.
my first duck (hatched a full day before the rest) did the same thing, she had her upper body out of the e g g and I could see she was still attached at the belly. I went to bed at 9pm (on the couch next to the incubator) and when I woke at 1 am she had finally kicked the bottom half off. There was a little blood beneath her. I went back to sleep and by 5 am she was stumbling around the incubator. The other ducklings were more vigorous than she when they were first born, but she's just fine now. I would leave the shell on and wait, I'm sure she won't be stuck!

I agree, DONT HELP. We had one that was still attached and after a day we helped him...his tummy handt closed up and his yolk sac was hanging out of this gaping hole in his belly... We named him Faith because it took a lot of hard praying but he DID make it and turned out just huge and gorgeous...

I'm trying very hard not to help - wandered outside in the sunshine a bit, watched Waking Ned Devine... keep checking on her - she seems strong, so that's a good sign, she's kicking and moving.
I need another movie to watch so I forget that she's in there
