Ok, finally got a minute to sit down

been working on the waterfowl pen all day. (beautiful day here!!)

Well, I came in, fed everyone (I have about 100 chicks still in my hatching room) and cleaned my hatcher, cause I had duck eggs (4) to put in Monday - so I thought

I opened the bator to turn the goose eggs, and heard peeping - thought it was the chicks in the room, but figured I'd candle anyway - I had an internal pip on one of the duck eggs, so they went into the hatcher. Glad I cleaned that hatcher!!

Now it's 7:30ish here, and I get to go make dinner

maybe I'll make myself a nice big margarita while I'm cooking.

That is kind of how it has been around here today. I went ot check progress on the duck eggs, and kept hearing a cheep.

Seems there was a turkey egg that was mostly zipped, that never got moved to the hatcher. We had to perform some quick aid and wet down a couple of areas that were stuck from the lower humidty, and presto, a poult.

I still have 6 days to wait on mine....GAWD!! It is killing me!! Then I have another set due a week later. I can't believe it has taken so long! And to think I have muscovy eggs coming.....what was I thinking??

let me in got 1 call duck egg on 11 one on 10 and 4 more in the bator.

I candled to day so I could toss non-developers and make room for somethin' else and lo and behold - 2 internal pips on my white runners! They are 2 days early according to my calendar - but I'm not all that organized, could be on time for all I know. Anyway - I moved all my soon to hatchers over to the still air for the wait. Humidity is great right now.

It will be very hard not to open that bator...

I just hatched some the other day and added more today. I sure hope the baby chicks can get out in the tight squeeze. I could not fit another egg if I wanted to.
