If it is it is new to me. I have been hatching my duck eggs and my chick eggs in the same incubator for 2 years now and have never had a problem. I have a canadian goose egg in with all of them now. My incubator is so full, I could not add another egg if I wanted to - I guess I could start a 2nd layer.

she is much lighter colored than Squishy was at hatch.

eta - Squishy after hatch -- see how much darker blue he is? I wonder if Spiffy is a khaki/blue cross color. If so she is beautiful (hope it's a she

CountryBum,

I am in the same boat - LOL. Yesterday I got my last batch of lavender/blue goose eggs and stuck them in this morning (kinda leaning against the turner as I am out of room) and then tonight I went out to feed and found another darn buff goose egg. I was suppossed to send those out today for a swap but we are having a blizzard. So I ended up sticking the two oldest eggs in my bator with the blues. They'd be old before the swapper got them anyway.

Plus - I have my still air - which is doing double duty as both hatcher and incubator #2 - filled with more goose eggs. I am so in over my head! I don't know what I'm gonna do with this hatch! I just put all the hatcher/bator #2 eggs in cartons to make clean up easier as I will still have other eggs in there incubating.

I need a cabinet incubator....next year for sure.

Squishy is my call duckie I hatched first - he is about two weeks old now (need to update a pic for him - he is growing huge) Squishy and Spiffy have the same Daddy, but different Mamas. Squishy's mama was a blue call duck (like Daddy is) and Spiffy's mama (I think) is my khaki call duck. Squishy's mama got taken by a hawk

Spiffy has some very light blue coloring, but is mostly yellowish - which makes me think khaki mama.

13 out.............

And the action continues........

You all are making me feel normal, stacking a second layer of eggs has run through my mind several times.

So we have a 1588 that has been dedicated to the Khaki Campbell eggs that are now hatching, and a little giant that is the warm up/ overflow bator that I set eggs in to start when the roll-X is at capacity.

It will be nice when the Khakis are all out, as we NEED to move some Aracanas and Black Coppers to a hatcher.

AND I am worried there might not be room for all of the eggs in waiting.

We did just empty out one big brooder over the last two days, and have plans to empty the next big one in the next few days, only to fill them back up with chicks and ducklings.
